My God, why have you forsaken me?
Why do you feel so far away?
My Lord, what will become of me?
Do you hear me as I pray?

Are you not the one who's enthroned above?
The one who's praises we sing.
The God who we cry out to endlessly.
The one who once delivered us.

You seem so distant,
and hope distant as well.
The storm is ever raging,
and our hearts cry out for help.
If a tree can defeat our savior,
then surely a breath would mean our doom.
